Infrastructure Because a peering point does not have to look like the whole internet, because BGP4 is designed for level 3 routing redundancy, because peering has to remain cheaper than international transit, the choice was made of a robust but simple architecture.Foundry BigIron equipments are the nodes of our network. They are recognized as excellent pieces of hardware for network operation. Besides, their modularity and robustness make them perfectly suitable for the needs of GEIX. Spanning Tree Protocol ensures a stable an redundant topology. We abandonned foundry's Metro
Ring Protocol after discovering an error it its loop detection mechanism. About GEIX is independant and neutral. It relies on a network and architecture that were especially designed for this activity and make excluvive use of these ressources.GEIX is operated by ManyOnes SARL, based in Paris, France and registered at RCS Paris B 449 031 574 and has no relation with any existing operator and thus garantees total impartiality. Please write to contact@geix.net for any question or information request. FAQ Could you tell me more about your project philosphy ?Yes. We wish to help middle/small size operators to gain independance and develop peering. Too often, access to expensive and local peering points has to be achieved through WAN L2 links, one link per peering point, a lot of waste, and everybody has to do the same. This looks like a nonsense to us, getting access to hundreds of european ops from a single point using a mutualized peering ring seems to much more reasonable, technically and economically speaking. We mutualize to help local alternatives, that's it. Who are you ?
You say goal is not business, why isn't it gratuitous then ?
Are you spamming me ?
